Say Goodbye To May

As the expression goes, all is well that ends well. At least for the week and for the month of May.

Nasdaq

For the week, the Dow gained +1.27%, the S&P 500 +1.78%, Nasdaq +3.19%, and the Russell 2000 +3.34%. For the entire month of May, the Dow lost -1.42%, the S&P 500 +1.07%, Nasdaq +4.55%, and the Russell 2000 +4.48%.

The best performing sectors this week were airlines, pollution & treatment controls, recreational vehicles, long distance carriers, semiconductors, technical & system software, entertainment, gaming, trucks, general contractors, consumer services, apparel clothing, personal computers, trucking, toy & hobby stores, railroads, office supplies and networking & communication. The worst weekly performances were put in by precious metals, tobacco, regional banks, oil & gas, and farm products.

We have a lot of data next week including next Friday's big bad jobs report. I'll do my best to return back to the normal routine next week.

Have a great weekend!
