ETF Winners & Losers

If you went leveraged short a month ago using many of the Ultra ProShares fund offerings, you're likely having a rough time at the moment. Since August 16th, here's the top 10 losers (percentage loss is next to each ETF):

You would also think that given the prevalence of bearish ProShare UltraShort funds on the loser's list, that you'd see the ultra bull funds appear on the top end of the winners list. However, you'd be wrong in that assumption. Only the ProShares Ultra Oil & Gas ETF (DIG) made it to the top 10. The rest were focused on China and commodities.

Perhaps we should keep an eye on these group leveraged to worldwide growth very closely. If they show signs of failure, the U.S. market will likely follow suit.
