3Q Performance Grid
As part of my routine, at the end of the quarter I spend some time looking over Prophet.net's performance grid.
In short, what I'm looking for are significant sector changes. For example, can you find any sectors that have made a big adjustment over the past month and quarter? Do any of these leadership changes surprise you? Are there any groups "too" oversold based on the past three months? Can you locate any sectors that are slowly, but surely gaining in overall performance momentum?
Engaging in this kind of routine sector analysis will help you identify opportunities. In addition, it will provide you with a much better idea of what is actually going on below the surface of the major market averages. Sometimes we all get too focused on how the Dow & S&P 500 are performing while the "details" will help you identify actionable situations. I should know - I'm frequently guilty of the same mindset.
